Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Exercise Physiology

‘Musculoskeletal’ is the umbrella term for our muscles and bones. An injury to the musculoskeletal system is usually caused by a repetitive activity or strain on the body. Common areas that are injured include the back, neck, shoulder and knee.

As a team, we understand that treatment of an injury in its early stages will lead to a better outcome in the long term. We are passionate about not only treating your pain but working out what may have caused your injury in the first place. We work together to assess, treat and provide long term management through specific exercises and adaptations you can make to prevent re injuring the same area. Our goal for you is optimum mobility and we seek to find out what you want to achieve.

We use a variety of treatment techniques including;

  • Mobilisation of joints and soft tissue

  • Education

  • Massage including self massage

  • Taping

  • Strength training

  • Gait retraining

  • Balance and proprioception

  • Postural retraining and ergonomic assessment
