  • What’s the difference between Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology?
Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists are both University trained Allied Health Professionals. They both receive similar refunds under Medicare, DVA, Workers Compensation, MAIB and NDIS. Physiotherapists use evidence-based care to assess, diagnose, treat and prevent a wide range of health conditions and movement disorders. Physiotherapy helps repair damage, reduce stiffness and pain, increase mobility and improve quality of life. Exercise Physiologists primary focus is to use exercise-based intervention to prevent, manage and treat complex medical conditions. These interventions include health and physical activity education, advice and support and lifestyle modification with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change. They work across a very wide range of pathologies and only use evidence based research as a guide. If you are still unsure who you are best to see, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
